10 Of The Best Things To Do In March

Firsty, well done for making it through January and February (they’re arguably the worst months of the year). Secondly, well done for finding this article – it means you’re ready to let your hair down and have some fun.

March is jam packed with exciting things to do and DesignMyNight have kindly sent across their top picks. Make room in your diary for paint throwing followed by an Indian feast, an NYC-inspired bottomless brunch and a secret supper club where anything goes, including questionable singing.

Visit Japan Via This Blossom-Filled Pop-Up

If you’ve always wanted to visit Japan but your bank account is currently holding you back, we may just have the next best thing. Neverland – London’s famous Fulham pop-up – is back with their Little Kyoto installation and just like last year, it’s shaping up to be a real looker. They have a blossom-filled pagoda, a sake bar, a lantern-filled tent alongside ryokans in the garden. Sold yet? Drinks and food won’t let you down either – expect bao buns, gyoza, sushi and floral cocktails that pack a punch.

Treat Yourself To Champagne And Bottomless Sushi

Mayfair is flush with flashy restaurants and pretty cocktail bars, but which ones are really worth swiping your Amex for? Miro is one of the newest additions to the area and although it opened with a signature dish that costs a whopping £3,000, it’s got a more than affordable bottomless sushi night for £49 that they run midweek. This slinky offer runs from Tuesday to Friday from 6pm and they even throw in a half bottle of Champagne. If you’re looking for luxury on a budget, you’ve just found it.

Celebrate St Patrick’s Day At This Cool Cocktail Bar

St Patrick’s Day doesn’t have to be about plastic shamrock headbands and ‘I love Ireland t-shirts’. Make your way to Homeboy in Battersea on 17th March and you’ll get an authentic taste of the Emerald Isle. This home-away-from-home hideaway is known for making one of the best Irish coffees in London – they have three variations to choose from – and you can bet they do some of the best Guinness in town too. If you need some soakage, they have you covered with a menu packed with tonnes of comforting bites.

Pelt Paint And Feast Big In The Name Of Holi

Add some colour to your wardrobe this March and grab a ticket to Holi at Cinnamon Kitchen. This technicolour pop-up that’s taking place at one of London’s most loved Indian restaurants is promising buckets of fun (and paint) at their unique celebration. Your £35 ticket will get you 30 minutes of play time where you’ll get to pelt your family, friends (and possibly your colleagues) with every colour under the sun. Throwing paint is laborious work, so we’d highly recommend buying their £60 ticket that includes a drink and top notch grub.

Drink Cocktails From Genitals At This Secret Supper Club

Can you keep a secret? Good, neither can we. Bunga Bunga are hosting secret supper club parties every Thursday and Friday and they’re said to be outrageously fun (if you love karaoke and belting out tunes in front of strangers, that is). The star of their Italian menu is the pizza but they have some excellent sharing cocktails too. David is Goliath will see you pouring your booze from the genitals of a very famous Renaissance sculpture. Yes, you read that correctly. Tickets are £10 a pop and more than worth the morning after headache.

Try This NYC-Inspired Brunch With Postcard Views

When it comes to views of London, none are as impressive as the ones at Madison. This rooftop bar and restaurant flaunts an up-close-and-personal view of St Paul’s Cathedral that will leave you speechless. Already been? Not to worry; we have an excuse for your return. Madison has launched a New York-inspired brunch menu where you can order fried chicken and waffles and a personal favourite of ours: lobster benedict. You can add on bottomless bubbles too, for £35 a pop.

Live The High Life With This Lunar-Themed Afternoon Tea

Freezing cold or so hot you’ve got a mini fan glued to your hand, we reckon afternoon tea is appropriate all year round, and with any weather forecast too. Not that the weather matters too much this month, but make your way to The Orchid Lounge in the Pan Pacific (one of London’s most luxurious hotels) before 27th March for a limited afternoon tea that will leave a lasting impression. The Lunar-themed menu is in partnership with Diptyque and it celebrates the year of the rabbit with lobster buns, kaya toast and lots of delicate handmade pastries.

Party At London’s Newest Cabaret Restaurant

Many things happened in the pandemic (not that you need reminding), one being the closure of Cafe de Paris: one of London’s legendary nightclubs. However, in March it will be reopening its doors once again, but as Lío London. You can expect just as much glitz and glamour as its predecessor with singers, actors and acrobats swinging from the ceilings. Food-wise, Mediterranean cuisine is the star of the cabaret restaurant and when you’ve put your knife and fork down, expect the space to transform into a nightclub worthy of Ibiza.

Watch The Sunset At This New Rooftop Bar

You’ve probably guessed from our Madison suggestion that we love a rooftop. And you’d be right. We do love a good rooftop. Florattica is one of the newest additions to London’s skyline and it’s a great shout if you want to see one of London’s sunsets when the clocks go forward (which is the 26th March, by the way). When it comes to the mixology, the cocktails here are a science and an art with homemade syrups and the freshest ingredients. If you’re feeling peckish they have sushi and cheese platters that are more than worth splashing out on.

Drink Frozen Margaritas And Play The Craziest Game Of Bingo

There‘s not much point in trying to fully explain Hijingo. We’re afraid you’ll only fully get it if you go, but as always – we’ll try our best. This futuristic bingo experience is like nothing you’ve ever seen before (we wish we were being dramatic). They combine live entertainment with trippy lighting and mind-blowing motion graphics, not to mention epic prizes if you win. Holiday to Europe anyone? They have frozen tequila slush puppies, yuzu bomb shots and Korean fried chicken that’s so tasty you might forget to finish your game of bingo.
