It’s freezing, you’re wondering why you can never do Dry January and your New Year’s resolution has already gone out the window. Sounds like you’ve hit the month of February.
One thing to keep reminding yourself is that you’re one month closer to spring but if that’s not enough to get you over the cold snap, we’ve reached out to DesignMyNight for the top things to do this month. There’s bottomless pizza parties, new Japanese rooftops and some seriously tasty stacks to devour on Pancake Day. See – February’s not so bad after all.
Drink Cocktails On A Secret Japanese Terrace
Rooftops. There’s plenty of them in London but have you ever heard of Ham Yard Hotel? This boutique hotel has a secret bar on the roof where you can leave street level and scoot up to the skies for some glittering views of Soho. This private space is opening up to the public in a bid to celebrate the transition from winter to spring with The House of Suntory. Expect gin, vodka and whisky cocktails alongside an epic menu of Japanese-inspired sharing plates.
Stuff Your Face With Bottomless Pizza
You’re having a bad day? Pizza. You’ve split up with your partner? Pizza. It’s a Friday night? Pizza. If there’s one thing you can count on cheering you up it’s a cheesy slice. And what better place to get your fix than Pizza Pilgrims. The Gods of crust are hosting infinity sessions in their Liverpool Street venue where you can drink as many glasses of prosecco and pints of beer for 90 minutes alongside munching on bottomless pizza for just £37.50.
Dine In London’s Most Extravagant Restaurant
If there’s one opening that’s been on the lips of every Londoner it’s the opening of Bacchanalia. This next-level Mayfair restaurant is inspired by Greek and Roman mythology with hand-painted ceiling murals, sculptures of Medusa and the men’s loos are meant to represent Hades’ underworld. From huge oyster starters to lobster feasting plates, the menu is a decadent affair.
Celebrate Pancake Day With Iconic Stacks
Forget Valentine’s Day, when February rolls around we’re all about Pancake Day. If you’re looking for an iconic place to celebrate this month there’s only one place for it, and that’s The Breakfast Club. Every year they release a series of epic specials that are sure to turn your head. We don’t know what the limited edition menu is just yet but one thing’s for sure – you won’t find much batter.
Play Margarita Pong
We thought it would never end but Dry January is officially over. There’s plenty of ways to whet your whistle this February but we thought we’d share one of the wildest ways to get back on the horse. Barrio Covent Garden is the world’s largest tequila bar and it’s recently launched tequila pong. That’s right, beer pong… with tequila. There’s prizes up for grabs and if you’re lucky you might get to show off your skills on the stage.
Try This Travel-Inspired Afternoon Tea
Scones and a glass of bubbly? To us, afternoon tea is always a good idea. If you wholeheartedly agree, you should take note of Searcys St Pancras. This Champagne bar is said to be the longest in Europe (what a title) and they also serve a chocolate-box-cute afternoon tea come the weekend. Their traditional sandwiches and pastries come served in an Instagrammable suitcase and you can pop on a glass of fizz for £10 extra or add on bottomless for an extra £40.
Swing To Victory At This Crazy Golf Course
Swinging is a way of life at Junkyard Golf. This bonkers crazy golf experience in Shoreditch has four holes to choose from, each with its own theme. UV rooms, furry walls, pirate speedboats and eight foot bears are the norm here, as are bubblegum cocktails and frozen margaritas. Whether you’re here for date night or you’re having a cheeky night out with pals, you’re sure to have a great night – just remember to swing that shaft.
Watch The Six Nations At This Unique Hot Tub Experience
The Six Nations is back in February and if you live in London, you should know that your options for catching the action span past staying at home or going to the pub. Skuna Boats are docking their floating hot tubs in Canary Wharf where you can find yourself in your own private tub with up to six of your pals. The two-hour experience will see you shouting on your teams on a 55 inch screen.
Spend Valentine’s Day At Silverleaf
Snuggled away in the Pan Pacific Hotel is Silverleaf. This bar opened its doors in 2022 and it’s been drawing in a trendy crowd ever since. If you want a swish date night spot with low lighting and great drinks, you’ve met your match (especially for Valentine’s). The interiors have been designed by none other than Tom Dixon and the menu is impressively mapped using 12 profiles, from aromatic and floral to fruit and smoke. If you’re a whisky fan, we highly recommend trying the strawberry lapsang. It won’t disappoint.
Spend Your Sunday Eating This Viral Roast
Finding a roast that lives up to the hype can be an arduous task. Luckily for you we’ve done the hard work so you don’t have to. The Gun in Spitalfields is a pub with lots of personality and it’s been around since the 17th century, so you know they’re doing something right. Their homely potions come with roasted duck fat potatoes, seasonal vegetables, truffled cauliflower cheese, veal gravy and last but certainly not least – a giant Yorkshire pudding.
