Deciding what to do for New Year’s is an arduous task. But if you’re looking for something a little outlandish, quirky and an all round amazing time (that doesn’t involve your local) – then we’ve got you covered.
We got in touch with DesignMyNight for their intel on everything from fancy masquerade balls, dazzling glitter parties and bonkers burlesque shows to help you see in 2023 in nothing but style.
Showlesque – Cabaret, Burlesque And Circus Show At The Walrus
Brighton, you know there’s no place like it. It’s vibrant, has amazing beaches and this year, is home to the best New Year’s Eve party in East Sussex. So, if you’re lacking plans on 31st December, this is your sign to head down to The Walrus for a night of burlesque dancing, cabaret and plenty of bubbly (cause, let’s face it – it wouldn’t be New Years Eve without it). You can even choose what you want included in your ticket. Fancy a three-course meal, a night of circus acts followed by a banging club night? Silly Question. Of course you do.
New Year’s Eve At The Gibson
The Gibson is no stranger to being a little bit different. Their cocktails are quirky beyond belief (you have to see them to believe them) and their interior gives off a futuristic Edwardian vibe, so if you’re headed here on New Year’s Eve be sure to expect the unexpected. Look forward to a party that storms into 2023, with live music, Champagne at midnight and a whole host of weird and wacky cocktails. This secret speakeasy can be found in the heart of Shoreditch too (aka the party capital of the big smoke).
New Year’s Eve At Flight Club
Flight Club (unlike Fight Club) is spoken about far and wide. Brad Pitt might not be here, but that won’t stop you from having an amazing New Year’s Eve at this activity bar. Join them on the 31st of December for a two-hour brunch that includes bottomless pizza, prosecco and a cheeky bit of darts with your gal pals. If you have bullseye skills, this will be the time to show them off. These guys are situated in Manchester, London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, Cheltenham and Cardiff – so you’ve got plenty of choice. Just remember the first rule of Flight Club…tell everyone!
New Year’s Eve Cosmic Disco At Luna Springs
Luna Spring’s is one of the coolest spots in Birmingham and this year their last bash of 2022 is set to be all things outlandish, spacey and bonkers. Expect many space-themed cocktails, dazzling disco balls, confetti cannons and smoke machines at their Cosmic Disco blowout. You’ll be bopping into the early hours to the best house tunes, all under a luxurious heated marquee – so there’s no need to layer up when picking your party outfit.
Blingo – Hip Hop Bingo New Year’s Eve Special
Trust us when we say New Year’s Eve parties don’t come quirkier than Blingo Hip Hop Bingo. Get involved in this bizarre and brilliant bingo/comedy show that’s hosted by Grandma Flash, the potty-mouthed pensioner who will keep you on your toes until it’s time to call it a night. There’s also an OAP DJ (yes, really), dance offs, lip sync battles, banging beats and a serious amount of bling. Not to mention wildy weird prizes for those who come out on top.
Glitterfest New Year’s Eve Party
Are you ready for a night of glitz, glamour and glitter? Glitterfest is set to hold their biggest New Year’s Eve bash yet – meaning they’re not holding back on the sparkle, so neither should you. It’s going to be a wild night of non-stop clubbing, circus acts, glitter balls and confetti cannons – and that’s not even the half of it. Want to know the coolest part? This party is held in a top secret London location that is only revealed a few days before the event – it’s not one to be missed.
Tonight Josephine’s Glitterbomb New Year’s Eve Party
She’s stylish, she’s sassy, and she’s ready to give you the New Year’s Eve party of your dreams. It must be Tonight Josephine’s Glitter Party. If you know this place (why wouldn’t you?) you’ll already know they’re one of the best looking bars in town. So bring your bling and leave the last night of 2022 in the hands of a glamtastic cabaret drag host for plenty of karaoke and lip sync battles. Gather the gals, it’s time to say ‘thank you, next’ to 2022.
Neverland’s New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball
So far, the roaring 20s haven’t quite lived up to their full potential but Neverland London is (hopefully) about to change that with their masquerade ball. Your evening will kick off with a welcome glass of bubbly (that’s included in your ticket price) before you get stuck into a night of house music and non-stop classics. If you want to go all out, this alpine-inspired pop up will have moose cabins, igloos and ski bubbles that you can book out until the early hours of 2023.
Piano Works Farringdon’s Black Tie Affair
Piano Works Farringdon’s New Year’s Eve bash is branded a black tie affair, so make sure you raid your wardrobe for the slickest thing you own. Waltz on down for a glam dinner, plenty of drinks and a glass of bubbly upon arrival – it’s the least you deserve after a long year. With live music starting from 5pm, don’t be so shocked when you burn more calories than several HIT sessions in the gym. Another great quirk is that you and your friends can request songs by writing them on a napkin and handing them to the live band. First song request of the night? Dancing Queen by ABBA, obviously.
New Year’s Eve At The Little Orange Door
If you’re looking for a party to call your own without the stress of having to host (or clean up), then The Little Orange Door is your saving grace this New Year’s Eve. These guys pride themselves in providing an unpretentious space for people to make their own. So get ready to sit back and relax, while you tuck into a four-course meal and some amazing cocktails while you count down the last hours of 2022. Ps: this Soho gem is also a great place to get some stunning shots for the Gram.
