Christmas Cocktails To Get You In The Festive Mood

Between running around for last minute presents and untangling last year’s decorations, Christmas isn’t always as chill as it’s cracked up to be.

If you’re on the lookout for a way to unwind this December, we have just the thing. DesignMyNight have rounded up their favourite themed cocktails, so you can kick back and blow off some steam with some super festive sips; think chocolate concoctions and glittering prosecco that takes like a bellini.

Nomad

Throw on your woollies and make your way to Nomad, one of London’s most talked about hotels, to make the most of their six-week pop-up at Common Decency, where you can find cocktails split up into three different sections: naughty, nice and Christmas explosions. For those of you who remember Shrek (and also like gingerbread), don’t walk away without ordering ‘not the buttons’. Don’t ask questions now: you’ll know why when you get there. If gingerbread isn’t your vibe, you can’t go wrong with the candy cane colada.

Chocolate Cocktail Club

Is Christmas even Christmas without chocolate? Obviously not. So get your festive kicks this year by ditching that red tub of Celebrations and making your way to The Chocolate Cocktail Club. This snug spot has got a sleigh full of new concoctions for you to try. The Biscoff of Bethlehem tastes just as good as it sounds and don’t dare walk out the door without trying the Giggling Gingerbreadman. Sucker for Jaffacakes? They happen to have a cocktail that tastes exactly like it.

Dirty Martini

When it comes to Christmas-themed cocktails, Dirty Martini have more than got you covered. This year their elfs have been working behind the scenes to bring you four epic creations, all of which are available during their happy hour for just £8 a pop. fairytale in New York is naturally spiked with whisky and their Christmas martini comes with an edible candy cane. If you have a sweet tooth, you can’t go wrong with the snowman; it’s basically a liquid dessert.

Dirty Bones

There’s nowhere like New York City at Christmas, but then again, there’s nowhere like London either. Thankfully the two merge together at Dirty Bones where you can get your hands on NYC-inspired comfort food in the heart of London. Make your way down to their restaurant this December and try the foxy; a festive-flavoured espresso martini that comes with a crackable brûlée top. Decadent drinks on your wishlist? Dirty Alexander is a dessert-approved sip made with butterscotch, chocolate and cream.

Silverleaf

If you’re looking for a night to remember in a gorgeous setting this Christmas, there’s only one place for it, and that place is Silverleaf. This new kid on the block has been turning heads left right and centre and the hype isn’t going away anytime soon, especially when they’re bringing out limited edition drinks, like their new festive concoction, white chocolate and oolong. Made with Nikka Days Blended Whisky, salted egg yolk, oolong and white chocolate, it’s sure to jingle your bells.

Callooh Callay

If you haven’t heard of Callooh Callay, you’ve been hiding under Santa’s sleigh for too long. This award-winning bar is forever changing its menu, giving you plenty of reason to return to its home in Shoreditch, especially around Christmas time. Make a booking pronto, ask the bartenders for a Champagne martini and thank us later. Did we mention that this place also has a secret bar hidden behind a wardrobe? Talk about Narnia vibes…

The Alchemist

Nowhere does theatrical cocktails like The Alchemist, and when Christmas comes chugging around the corner, they pull out as many stops as Santa on 25th December. This year they’ve brought back their white chocolate raspberry martini, alongside two other festive showstoppers that you’re not to miss. The winter colada is made with mince pie rum and the mulled bellini is, in our opinion, better than mulled wine, mixed with glittering mulled wine reduction. Chin chin.

Sunday in Brooklyn

You might know Sunday in Brooklyn because of their viral pancakes that have come all the way from New York, and rightly so. Although this stateside lot is famous for flipping brilliant breakfasts and brunches, they’ve pulled it out of the stocking this Christmas with their collection of snow day cocktails and their festive decor. Snowman’s land is an unusual but brilliant drink with gin and curry leaf (don’t knock it till you try it) and the ski lift is a must for any Jäegermeister fans, shaken with whisky, peanut butter and gingerbread miso cream.
